Three Bears Yarn

Today's post is going to be a short review of the new 100% cotton yarn that is shortly to be released by Three Bears Yarn.

If you haven't heard about Three Bears Yarn... where have you been?! Their social media presence is astounding and I am so excited for them to officially launch their website and business on the 1st October 2015!

Three Bears Yarn is an independent, family run yarn company with over 100 years of experience in the yarn dying business. For me, I think I was most excited about the fact that this is a small, genuine, British business that clearly has a lot to offer!

Three Bears Yarn recently posted on their Instagram for designers to trial some of their yarn and give them some feedback so I jumped at the chance to try something new. I have just received my samples and I can already tell you that I am in love!

Three Bears Yarn - Hazel and Peanut

I don't usually work with cotton. As a newbie to crochet, I preferred to work with acrylic because it was easier to find in my little town and was cheap enough that I didn't mind buying a few balls here and there if I decided crochet wasn't for me... (that obviously hasn't happened)! However, I think I am fast becoming a convert to the good stuff.

I received four different balls of yarn:

  • A vibrant, turquoise aran;
  • A baby pink DK;
  • A lilac 4 ply ;
  • A petrol grey DK.

My favourite has to be the turquoise aran yarn. It is the most beautiful colour and works so well when coupled with yarn of varying weights. I recently tried out a simple chevron sample piece using the turquoise aran and baby pink DK yarn to see how they fared and the result was lovely.

The yarn isn't splitty like some of the other cotton I have tried and it is smooth and easy to work with. I am really very impressed!

Head over to their Facebook or Instagram to see for yourself what beauties this new company has to offer!
